I live near Seattle, WA. I'm wondering if someone in your organization might be able to help me track my Irish family that lived in NY? Perhaps there are descendents of some who are members. Robert McDowell b. 1812; brother Charles McDowell b. 1814. in Longford, IRE. Both lived in Brooklyn and Robert has an account in the Emigrant Savings Bank showing he is from Edgeworthstown. Other family is Reilly (O'Reilly) and I'm pretty sure there must be descendents of this family who may be members. Robert Reilly (b. IRE@ 1830 husband of Catherine Kelly) is in 1880 Census Brooklyn, NY. Sons James, John, Robert came to the US. Robert (son) had a daughter Theresa and a son James both born in Brooklyn. Robert is buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in Brooklyn along with his brother John and other family members. Any suggestions greatly appreciated! I believe James (son of Robert) died in FL and was buried in NJ about 1979. Thank you!

I am looking to find information on my gg-grandfather, James Doris, born 12-25-1866. I know he was a member and would like to know if you have any information on him. He came to US in 1885, probably a founding member? Please contact me if you can help in my search. Thank you.

Please e-mail me with instructions on how to join the Longford Association. I was born in USA, my father was born in Longford; I think that qualifies me for membership.

I want to research the Mollahan family from Longford. I do not know if they were from the town or county. the came to the USA before 1860 and settled in the coal mining area of PA. Do you have any suggestions of how I could try to locate their roots in Longford?

I was wondering how I could join your organization. After searching for our family in Ireland I finally found them (they had never left) in Gurteen and Edera just outside of Ballymahon, Longford, Ireland. My great grandfather Malichy Mulledy came to the US in about 1888 and lived with relatives in Rockland County and then moved to the City after the death of his first wife Mary Margaret Lennon, about 1904/05. Because of Rootsweb, Longford site I have reconnected with my Irish Cousins and also some Argentine Cousin. You have a great site. Thanks much, Many Blessings, Susan Mulledy
