paternal grandfather from longford. i have very little history on the McDowell family. apparently, he came here in the mid 1800's. would appreciate any resources you might have. am planning a trip there in April '09. thanks for anything you might have.

We have just refurbished a period property (old Georgian coach house in grounds of old rectory) in Ballinalee.(4 bedrooms and just hlaf a mile from village)Just wondering if there would be any interest in holiday lets to NY longfordians now that Knock airport has a regular route to NY. further details and photos available.
